Fluidized bed reactor

Fluidized bed reactor is used to perform a wide range of multiphase chemical reactions. The special feature of a fluidized bed reactor is that the solid particle bed behaves as though it was a fluid. Such reactors inherently possess excellent heat transfer and mixing characteristics. The standard version of Thermawatt fluidized bed reactor comes with all necessary build in peripheral equipment.

Standard features:

  • Maximum working temperature 1000 °C
  • Digital dual screen PID temperature controller
  • Solid state relay that provides a low-noise operation
  • Column made of heat resistant stainless steel
  • Build-in analog gas supply system, that includes flow meter and flow adjusting valve

Optional features:

  • Digital programmable temperature controller with 10 recallable programs of 100 steps (ramp and soak) per program. Controller comes with USB port and can be connected with pc for process control through user-friendly graphic interface and documentation with supplied freeware
  • Quartz fluidization column
  • Maximum service temperature can reach 1100 °C
  • Build-in digital gas supply system for precise flow control

Rotary kilns

This is an electric furnace with horizontal orientation. Its unique feature is the rotation of the heating chamber that combines simultaneous heating and blending of processing material. These special conditions enhance kinetics of heterogeneous reactions between solid and gaseous phases (calcination, oxidative or reductive roasting, thermal decomposition etc.).  Normally, ultra-fine,  granular grades or pellets are processed in this type of furnace.

Standard features:

  • Maximum furnace working temperature 1000 °C
  • Digital dual screen PID temperature controller
  • Adjustable heating chamber rotation speed
  • Adjustable inclination of heating chamber

Optional features:

  • Plugs for special atmosphere development in the working tube (reductive, oxidizing or inert atmosphere)
  • Programmable controller with two or more programs of 8 steps (ramp and soak) per program or totally 16 steps
  • Digital programmable temperature controller with 10 recallable programs of 100 steps (ramp and soak) per program. Controller comes with USB port and can be connected with pc for process control through user-friendly graphic interface and documentation with supplied freeware
  • Build-in analog or digital special gas flow regulation system

Thermogravimetric furnace

This is a prototype furnace, primarily used when determination of a sample weight loss in terms of processing time and temperature is required. The weight loss may be attributed to heterogeneous reaction, thermal decomposition, moisture removal etc. The furnace heating chamber is vertically oriented and peripherally heated by electric resistances, while the sample heating chamber is suspended on an electronic balance. This special design allows the development of desirable condition under which specific reactions can be initiated and reactions kinetics can be studied.

Standard features:

  • Maximum furnace working temperature 1100 °C
  • Digital dual screen PID temperature controller
  • Solid State Relay for silent operation
  • Build-in gas supply system for inert, reductive and oxidizing atmosphere development in the heating chamber
  • Electronic balance with USB port that allows weight loss recording in PC through supplied freeware
  • Customized heating chamber geometry (diameter and length)

Optional features:

  • Programmable controller with two or more programs of 8 steps (ramp and soak) per program or totally 16 steps
  • Digital programmable temperature controller with 10 recallable programs of 100 steps (ramp and soak) per program. Controller comes with USB port and can be connected with pc for process control through user-friendly graphic interface and documentation with supplied freeware
  • Inverter power drive
  • Digital gas supply system
  • Alarm system for detection of hazardous gases leakage

Melts viscometry

The type of furnace is a high temperature special atmosphere chamber furnace that is equipped with a purpose designed viscometer for viscosity measurement under extreme temperature conditions.  The viscometer spindle design and construction material is defined depending on the material to be tested. For example, in the extreme case of metallurgical slugs, the spindle is constructed by special alloy that is functional up to 1500 °C. Due to the furnace design, the equipment can support various sensors for direct characterization of heated samples.
